Dear colleogue, Thank you very much for our mutual cooperation to take care of your patient. He has been operated upon recentely. He is now introducing himself to your post operative care. Please decide for the neccesary management according to the actual local situation. You may wish for a consultation in case of aesthetic surgery. I will very appreciate if you may be able to let me examine the actual situation with you through a web camera or a photo of the patient to be sent by e-mail. This helps better judging and optimizes our care for the patient. I am also thankful for your comments and suggestions for a better service for the patient on the web. Please find the instructions for the patient after the surgery under the tiltle “preparation for an operation”. At the same time, I am paying your attention to the following suggestions to spare time in this regard. The post operative care of urological surgery is nearly the same as for any other surgery or wound. The patient may have a catheter of any type. This may be a bladder catheter, suprapubic catheter, ureteric catheter, renal catheter (nephrostomy). The patient may have under special circumstances plastic reconstructive or aesthetic surgery like penile augmentation. I will try to summarize the most important points of care for your respected attention. The most important decision must be taken by you on the basis of the history and complaint, clinical examination, actual local condition, laboratory findings and bacteriological examination.
