post OP wounds
All types:
  • Keep away from trauma.
  • Let the patient wear a suspensory dressing (scrotal support).
  • Desinfect the wound and put Nebactin powder or any antibiotic powder or ointment daily.
Circumcision:
  • Let the patient claen the wound and rinse it in camomil twice daily for 15 minutes.
  • Dry the wound and put Nebacetin powder or any antibiotic powder or ointment daily.
  • Keep the wound away from trauma.
Prosthesis:
  • Keep the wound dry and strictly away from infection.
  • Let the inflatable prosthesis be inflated and deflated once or twice per day untill complete healing and function of the prosthesis.
  • Observe signs of infection both localy and generaly.
  • Observe for the  perfusion of the glans.
Correction of penile curvature:
  • Put a compression to the shaft for one week.
  • Observe signs of infection both localy and generaly.
  • Observe for signs of haematoma localy.
Advancement of the penis (lengthening):
  • If the wound is V-Y plasty, then let the shaft be suspended downward to avoid interferance with the perfusion of the flap. Do not bent the shaft to the abdomen.
  • Let the mini drain in place until it is empty for 2 days.
  • Observ efor ocal and systemic signs of infection
  • Dress the wound by desinfecting with alcohol, put Nebacetin powder and dress it.
  • Put the shaft of the penis un der tension (puling) by an adhesive tape attached from the shaft to the thigh.
  • If there is necrosis of the falp, let the wound be dry and dress it with metalline. Please put the allumenized side of the dressing on the wound. Keep doing this untill complete granulation and healing.
  • If there is slight hardness or scaring subcutaneously, inject prednisolone 1 ml localy to prevent furtehr scaring. This is to done once per week over a period of 4-5 weeks.
Thickening of the penis:
  • Let the mini drain (if any) in place until it is empty for 2 days.
  • Observe for ocal and systemic signs of infection
  • Dress the wound by desinfecting with alcohol, put Nebacetin powder and dress it.
  • Compression dressing should be applied to the shaft for 1 week keeping the perfusion of the glans in mind.
  • The shaft can be put to the lower abdominal wall for drainage if the opration is not combined with penile advancement (lengthening).
  • In case of a fistula, be sure that the wound is clean. Take a swab to identify any organis if any and treat according to the results of a culture senstivity test. Keep the woud open.
  • If infection is not easy to irradicate, remove the implnats and wait untill complete healing is observed
  • Repeat the implantations for thickening at least six months after the iiradication of infection.
Liposuction:
  • Let the patient put the compresson dressings conineously for 8-12 weeks.
  • Let the patient put the compression dressings intermittentely for another 12 weeks.
  • Observe for local or systemic signs of infection to be treated immediately.
