Penis enlargement (Penis transfer)

During the last five years the technique for penis lengthening and thickening and the enlargement of glans penis has been successfully developed, and carefully refined. In the following report I would like to inform you about these new techniques so that you have an appropriate basis for your personal decision.

The technique of operation, initially developed from the Chinese procedure and adapted especially to suit western males, is the first operation of its kind to achieve a considerable gain in length, obtain a normal appearance and ensure a permanent result without affecting function in any way. A series of hundreds of cases has been completed with excellent results. Patients gain 3-5 cm of extra penis length on the average. This gain is permanent, as the part of the penis  is shifted forward from the inside of the body and re-anchored so that more of the penis is visible externally.

The elongation of the penis shaft is achieved through minute incision that is invisible through the pubic hair.

The lengthening procedure does not result in a thicker penis.
No special risks are involved. As in all surgical procedures, swelling and oozing of the wound may occur and may vary from patient to patient.

The under endowed patient can, on the average, expect to gain approximately 3-5 cm of length through the operation. Sexual, urinary and reproductive function is not endangered by this technique and therefore sexual function won’t be changed. The patient will retain his ability of erection pervious to the operation - no less, but also no more.

Normally the sexual function can be resumed between six and eight weeks after the operation, though it takes up to six months or longer for the wounds to heal completely and the swelling to subside.

Most patients, however, have found the greatest gain not to be a physical one, but a psychological advantage which changed their attitude about themselves.

The patients have generally gained self-confidence through a better body image, which eventually helped them to overcome shyness or shame and affected their sexual relationship positively.

It is important to note that having a bigger penis does not guarantee improved sexual enjoyment for female partners, as only the front part of the vagina is richly endowed with the sensitive nerve endings responsible for stimulation during intercourse. In fact, research has shown that women generally rate such qualities  as tenderness, nurturing and sensitivity to the needs of the partner as more important in a relationship than sexual performance itself.

Just because a harmonic relationship is more than a pure physical performance, we recommend that our patients undergo sexual therapy or psychological counselling before and after their operation in order to  benefit fully from the psychological effect of the surgery. In this way they are supported in the restoration  of a healthy self-image as a basis for a more fulfilled life - sexually and in other aspects.

This technique is the only operation technique chosen world wide to be integrated in the first time in a teching for plastic and aesthetic surgery.

Who is qualified for the operation ?

Medical researchers have established the average penis length for a western male to be approximately 15 cm (erect) and 8 cm (flaccid). The lengthening operation has been developed to aid genuinely under endowed patients. In other words to change a penis of below average length into a penis of „normal“ size.

Other patients who are qualified for the operation are those with abnormalities of the penis by birth, or trauma (accidents or mutilation) or previous surgery (for instance to correct hypospadius or epispadius) or the chordee (where the penis is curved).

How does the operation work ?

An incision is made from the pubic hair area (to minimise visible scaring once the pubic hair has grown again).

The procedure involves three stages, which are performed during one operation and which take approximately 90 minutes in all.

  1. The ligament attaching the penis from the inside of the pelvis is detached.
  2. The penis is moved forward.
  3. The resulting space is narrowed with stitches. 2 sheets of a special material called VYPRO II may be stitched opposite each other to the infrapubic area and the dorsum of the penis to prevent re attachment of the ligament if necessary.
  4. The skin at the pubic hair area is cosmetically closed..
The end result is a scar of approximately 3 cm running transversely, vertically or as an inverted Y shape. This scar eventually fades quite well and is hidden within the pubic hair line and becomes invisible. The penis is put under stretch until complete healing.

Healing:

The same healing time as for any operation applies, namely approximately six weeks for primary healing and up to six months or more for the healing process to be completed. Usually sexual activity can be resumed after the initial six weeks healing period. A post-operative stay of two days in hospital is sometimes mandatory for observational purposes.

Immediately after the operation, your wounds may be somewhat sore, although usually not extremely painful. A mild swelling and bruising of the penis and testis bag could occur. Ten to twenty percent of the patients have more or less intense pain in the first two to three weeks and after the operation a slower wound healing process begins. In this case your advising physician will support you if necessary.

Less than 1% of our patients experienced a transient reduction in the sensitivity of the penis shaft after the operation. This reduction in sensitivity was temporary and disappeared after 2-3 months once the swelling and healing process inside the penis base settled down.

The Most patients are discharged from hospital two hours to one day after the surgery (if hospital stay for 2 days may not be requested by the patient himself), after which one week sick leave is necessary. Immediately after discharge you should enjoy complete rest for at least five days. Stay as inactive as possible by remaining in bed or sitting in a comfortable chair reading or watching television. After five days activities can slowly be resumed and after three weeks you should be able to move with relative ease again.

On discharge from the hospital a letter to your general practitioner will be provided with all details for contacting our medical service centre.

Recommendation:

It is sometimes advisable to have the prolongation operation done first and to use  penis stretching(Weights or Penistretcher) for at least 6 months before having thickening done. This is because the prolongation operation is completed only after the use of the stretcher for this period. It is difficult for the stretcher to fit on the penis in a number of patients when they have had their penis thickened first

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

  1. What is the right penis length?

It is at least 7,5 cm in a flaccid state and 15 cm in an erect state.
    --
  2. Can I elongate my penis?

Yes, this can be done through the incision of the fibrous band attaching the penis to the pubic bone. The elongation is merely the exposure of the already present hidden part of the penis. It is considered as an advancement procedure.
    --
  3. Is the effect of elongation immediate?

Yes, one can observe the elongation of the penis in the flaccid state immediately after the operation but the results are best augmented after using the penis stretching.
    --
  4. Is the elongation remarkable during erection?

It is less remarkable during erection.
    --
  5. What is the achievable maximum length?

This is individual and is dependant on the length of the hidden part of the penis. The usual achievement is 3-4 cm. The length should be augmented by the use of penis stretching (weights or Penistretcher) . There are no absolute promises to be made.
    --
  6. What is VYPRO II?

It is a special material similar to the sutures used for wound closure. It is a Network like structure which has been implanted in human body thousands of times. It is not reject able and it is safe.
    --
  7. What is a penis stretcher?

It is a device applied to the penis to elongate the smooth muscles and tissues of the penis and to prevent the re attachment of the penis ligament to its original place after surgery. The use of weights is easier and brings to the same effect.
    --
  8. Does the elongation affect erektion?

No, it does not. The penis augmentation surgery does not worsen erection but does not improve it either.
    --
  9. Does the elongation increase sexual satisfaction and performance?

It improves your psychological satisfaction and helps to regain self esteem. Sexual satisfaction is dependant on sexual performance and harmony with the partner but not on the length of a normally functioning penis.
    --
  10. What is the effect of cutting the suspensory ligament on my erection?

The suspensory ligament plays a role in the axial stability of the penis during erection. The cutting of the suspensory ligament increases the axial angle between the penis and the body during erection so that the penis will be up to about 30° more when looking down at it. This has no effect on the erection or sexual performance.
    --
  11. Is the surgery for penile enlargement effective?

Yes, and there is high patient satisfaction rate after the procedure.
    --
  12. How long after the surgery should I abstain from sex?

It is recommended that the patient abstain from penetrative sex for 4 weeks.
    --
  13. Are the results of the penile lengthening permanent?

They are permanent if you stick to the advice given for the post operative care and use the penis stretcher as long as possible.
    --
  14. Is there a non surgical method for penile lengthening?

The available non surgical physical methods for penile lengthening are in the form of weights, stretchers or a vacuum pump. The results of these methods are still not scientifically proved and we lack a long term study about the success of these techniques. However, the stretching of the penis to elongate it is scientifically proved as the Africans have used stretching methods to elongate their organs with remarkable success. This application needs a long time for success. The reduction of weight in obese patients is an advisable method to increase the length of the penis.
    --
  15. Will insurance cover the surgery?

Insurance covers the penile enlargement surgery of patients who have truly congenital or acquired micropenis of less than average size. They probably also cover the cost in the case of micropenis resulting from other surgery. They do not cover the costs for a purely cosmetic reason.
