Bed's wetting

Bed wetting is mostely a behavioural disease.

The children tend not to leave their friends or games even under the stress of a full bladder. They also neglect to drink enough. The consequence is to drink a large amount of fluids in a short time ther after. The bladder capacity becomes increassed throug the resulting retension which weakens its muscles. Another cause of the disease is the punishment of the children by their parents when they wet the bed. This results in a vicious circle for the child.

Hormonal dificiency is a rare cause of this disease.

The risiko factors of bed wetting:

  1. irrigular fluid intake
  2. reduced visits to the toillet
  3. deep sleep
  4. unishment by the parents
  5. shortage of antidiuretic hormone
  6. diseases of the urinary tract

How can I protect myself from bed wetting:

  1. regulate the fluid intake using a table to drink small amount of fluid on equal intervals
  2. adjust the time of emptying th ebladder according to a table
  3. speak with the child in an educational way
  4. empty the bladder before sleep
  5. avoid to drink short before sleep
  6. let the urologist examine the child
  7. make use of the behavioural therapy (biofeed back)
  8. try the alarming blanketts or allarming trausers for the child
  9. visit the urologist to treat any urological disease or a born defect of the urinary tract
  10. ask the urologist for hormone therapy as a last resort if other methods fail to heal the child

The therapy is simple but requires patience and educational talance from the parents.
